Course Objectives:
The objective of the Financial Engineering program is the training of students with data science, applied mathematics and finance backgrounds in the application of mathematical and engineering tools to finance.
This multidisciplinary education program involves the python and database design. Financial engineering uses tools from finance and economics, engineering, applied mathematics, and statistics to address problems such as derivative securities valuation, strategic planning and dynamic investment strategies, risk management, etc. Students with these skills are of interest to investment and commercial banks, trading companies, hedge funds, insurance companies, corporate risk managers, and regulatory agencies etc.
Session 1：Into of System design and Python
Intensive introduction to programming principles, discrete mathematics for computing, software design and software engineering concepts.
Session 2: Data Analytics
An applications-oriented course to develop the financial and accounting tools required to do financial planning valuation and assessment of financial performance.
Session 3: Econometric
Simultaneous equation models, dynamic structural econometric models, vector auto regressions, causality, forecasting, univariate and multivariate non stationary time series, tests for unit roots, cointegration, autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity models, time series models with changes in regime.
Session 4: Research Methodology & Academic Writing
- Interpret and analyses assignment questions and prompts
- Select, read and interpret suitable reference materials
- Identify the purpose, audience and context of writing
- Plan, generate, develop and organize relevant ideas
- Follow the writing conventions and rhetorical structures of academic genres
- Paraphrase, summarize, synthesis and quote source literature
- Develop arguments with evidence and express writer identity appropriately
- Use correct academic language, grammar, vocabulary and discourse markers to communicate thoughts coherently and concisely
- Create error free text accurately and fluently in an academic style and format
- Revise, edit, fine tune and proof read drafts
Session 5: Information session
The primary purpose of an information session is to put a spotlight on your organization–you can speak about your organization’s operations and goals, share employment opportunities, and make a lasting impression on our students. Such as Block Chain, investment Banking, Academic application….etc
